Liv's touch of the stomach bug :-(

Tuesday morning Livia woke up around 4 and drank 2 oz of her bottle which is not like her at all....she then threw it all up and had an explosive diaper...I immediately called my mom so she could come stay with her because it was the first day of TCAP...Thank goodness for my mom! She didn't get sick anymore after 10....mom went back home because we thought she was going to be ok! 

Livia woke up every hour through the night...this was very unusual...I did not make her cry it out because I knew it was her tummy upsetting her...so I went in every time and patted her bottom and she went right back to sleep...so when we woke up she had an explosive diaper...I called my mom and she said she would come back, but I knew it was going to be hard for her so Cody took off and stayed with her...she did great through the day...they played outside and inside, he gave her a bath, they napped, and ate! When I got home we headed to meet mom and dad in Jackson so Liv could stay with them during the day Thursday. I refuse to send Liv back until she is completely well. 

Wednesday night Livia did better..she didn't eat very much, but she slept through the night. She woke up Thursday morning and was back to her normal self! Yay we have our happy, smiling, full of life baby back!!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
