5 month update

You started drinking 6 oz of milk.

You are still wearing size 2 diapers.

You weigh 16 lbs.

You are 25 inches tall.

Your head circumference is 41 cm.

You are wearing 3-6 and 6 months clothes.

You love your Sophie the giraffe teether.

You take your Cattie the caterpillar rattler everywhere you go!

You have started interacting with your "My Baby Can Read" video...you talk and move around while watching it.

You are talking and motor boating all the time!

You have started singing yourself to sleep.

You love being outside...when we don't take a stroll....we sit under the outdoor living in our new chair!

You like to help hold your bottle, but you really love that you can pull it out of your mouth and put it back in! 
You finally enjoy your bouncy activity seat.

You will grab my face when I lean to kiss you! It melts my heart!!!

You sleep with your knees bent and legs open...we might need to start the crib soon...haha just kidding...you do this when you aren't in your bassinet!

You are rolling over from your back to belly and belly toy back even better.

You are noticing small details on shirts, toys, blankets...etc. You have started reaching for people's shirts to feel them.

You are still chewing on your fingers!

You have started laughing...especially when we dance and move are hands!

We have stopped warming your bottles.

You continue to greet everyone with a smile!

You have started rubbing your left eye when you are sleepy...you do a lot with your left hand.

You have started grabbing your feet all the time.

You started cereal from a spoon on April 9th...4 months 3 weeks and 3 days old...you are doing great and seem to really like it!

You slept 10 hours Saturday, April 14th.

I noticed your first freckle on Saturday April 14th while I was giving you a bath...it is on your left shoulder blade!


You have stopped putting your hand under the water and giving yourself a drink...you have learned that you get more when I spay the water bottle toward your mouth!


Livia you continue filling our lives daily with laughter, love, and tons of special moments that we will cherish forever! Your little personality is amazing! Thinking of you makes everything seem so small and we have really found the important things in life! We love you more and more each day and can't begin to describe the happiness you have brought into our lives! You are growing so fast,  but know that you will always be our baby!!! We love you more than you can begin to imagine!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
