AES Talent Show 2022

Image
We love the AES talent show and have really missed it the past 2 years due to Covid. It definitely made getting the audition note that much sweeter! Lai auditioned and out of 70+ participants, she advanced to the talent show! Liv was asked as the only 4th grader to be the tech crew! She was so excited! So, both of our girls were able to participate in the annual AES talent show! At the beginning of the year, we transitioned Lai from vocal group lessons to private lessons. Her new vocal coach, Alexis Grace, has brought out a new power voice that we always knew she had, but never quite had the confidence to share it!  She has worked so hard on her song, “Tomorrow” and we are extremely proud of her bravery and courage to step on stage and share her gift! Her anxiety almost got the best of her with only 7 contestants ahead of her. She looked at Cody and me and said “I cannot go on stage.” At that moment, one of my students and Lai’s friend showed her the scripture she had written on he...

Lera’s 1st Valentine’s Day

Image
Today we celebrated Lera’s 1st Valentine’s Day! It’s a tradition in our house for Mommy to write 14 days of love notes and tape them to the bedroom doors each morning leading up the Valentine’s Day! The girls and Cody get so excited to wake up each morning and read their love note! So sweet! This year the girls got extra excited because they took turns reading Lera’s notes to her! Happy Valentine's Day to my three little love bugs! My heart is soooo full!

Rock Your Socks for Lera {SAVE THE DATE}

We are extra excited to celebrate our first World Down Syndrome Day! Join us as we “Rock our Socks” for Lera!  March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), the day the Down syndrome community creates a single, global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.  Every year, on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate by wearing brightly colored or mismatched socks.  March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of Down syndrome chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!  We believe it is our family’s mission to raise awareness about our precious Lera, and help change the way the world views Down syndrome one extraordinary day at a time!  💛💙 If you choose to “Rock Your Socks” please share your picture with us to document on the blog! This blog will be printed and used as Lera’s baby book. If you choose...

Miss Lera's Nursery Reveal

Image
I am super excited to finally share Miss Lera's nursery. It came together so sweetly and is seriously my favorite space in the house! Initially, the room was for our guest, but it absolutely had bigger and better plans! Not only does it have a gorgeous bay window that reflects natural light, but also connects to our master bedroom.  THE PERFECT NURSERY!!  It had been a while since I looked at baby things (8 years to be exact), but having always had a thing for West Elm and West Elm Kids, I immediately jumped on their website for ideas. I quickly came upon this fabulous crib sheet that became the inspiration for her nursery! I love the colors and designs...the cool hearts being my fav…it screamed LERA to me! The room had all white walls {as does my entire exterior and interior}. I wanted to keep the white, add a little glamour yet modern touch, so a moody dark lavender/grey wall was the answer! Janet brought it to life while she was visiting us. I’m so thankful for her help and...
