I am super excited to finally share Miss Lera's nursery. It came together so sweetly and is seriously my favorite space in the house! Initially, the room was for our guest, but it absolutely had bigger and better plans! Not only does it have a gorgeous bay window that reflects natural light, but also connects to our master bedroom.
THE PERFECT NURSERY!!
It had been a while since I looked at baby things (8 years to be exact), but having always had a thing for West Elm and West Elm Kids, I immediately jumped on their website for ideas. I quickly came upon this fabulous crib sheet that became the inspiration for her nursery! I love the colors and designs...the cool hearts being my fav…it screamed LERA to me!
The room had all white walls {as does my entire exterior and interior}. I wanted to keep the white, add a little glamour yet modern touch, so a moody dark lavender/grey wall was the answer! Janet brought it to life while she was visiting us. I’m so thankful for her help and design expertise!
I saved Liv + Lai’s nursery furniture…what a blessing it was to be able to use some of it for Lera. However, we did purchase a new crib {Lai had used the rail as a teether, and it was discolored} and Janet surprised us with the Sleepy Time Rocker {AMAZING} and the precious moon shaped lights!
I also LOVE Leanne Ford from HGTV’s Restored by the Fords. Her design reflects what she describes as her signature “modern yet lived-in” aesthetic. I like to think of my design style as just that too! When I learned she had started designing baby furniture, I was thrilled! I HAD to have the heart wall mirror. It was playful, and the asymmetrical, hand drawn silhouette was creative + magical!
While Janet was in town, we took a trip to Pottery Barn Outlet to see if we could find a rug. And we did!! It was the perfect shade of grey and circular…just like we had envisioned!
I knew I wanted to use maple as an accent, so the search was on. I found a great side table and shelves at HomeGoods!
The last thing I needed was a functional storage for diapers, a wipe warmer, lotions, receiving blankets…etc. At the beginning of the Pandemic, I purchased a 3-tier rolling cart for my classroom from The Container Store. It has been wonderful as it is slender, made of steel, and ready to roll wherever I go. It seemed like the most practical choice for this purpose as well! And I’m here to report that I use it everyday. I roll it from Lera’s nursery to the living room as we take on each day. It has even given Liv + Lai a fun job of refilling the cart.
Every time I walk into Lera's nursery, it warms my heart and makes me smile!
I think she is going to love it!
Mommy loves you more than you'll ever know, Lera Michelle!
