Surprise visit from Momma and Daddy!

Today Livia turned 6 months old! We had her 6 month check up and she did great! We met Cody at the Doctor's office and her had got Livia a happy! This made my heart smile! When we walked into the office much to our surprise my mom and dad were sitting in the corner waiting on us!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was sooooo excited...and they were too!!! They weren't very busy today and needed to pick up doors (sounds like good excuses to me) so they decided to surprise us! I LOVE surprises!!!! They brought Livia a happy too! She is so into dogs right now so they brought her a stuffed puppy dog! Livia got a great report from Dr. M...she had to get two shots, but she did great! She didn't cry very much at all! He was  very impressed that she alternated hands when she held a stick! When we were finished we headed home to play! I love every chance I get to see my parents and today was no different!! Thank you Momma and Daddy for surprising us! We loved it!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
