My 1st Mother's Day weekend!

We went to Newbern to celebrate Mother's Day with my Momma, Grandmomma, Nana, and Aunt Kim! We drove in about 6:30 and had dinner...my grandmomma and grandaddy came up to visit with us! We played and showed them all of Livia's new tricks! They couldn't get over how strong she is! Saturday we visited my Pawpaw and Nana and Mr. Ronnie! She loved Pawpaw...everytime he would talk to her she would tuck her head like she was bashful...this was a first! She loved playing with Mr. Ronnie too! She really liked his beard! We all met at Grecian's to celebrate Mother's Day with everyone! 
Sunday morning momma, Livia, and I woke up first and played! My momma gave me my Mother's Day gift....the card that she picked out was probably the best card I have ever received! She gave me money to go buy whatever I wanted! I wanted to wait until everyone woke up before we gave momma all of her gifts...we are going to the beach in about 2 weeks so we bought her a new beach towel and gave her money to go get some new beach clothes! Livia made her a card!!! My Dad and sister got her a clematis and a pedicure! She was one happy Momma! We packed up and headed back to Memphis....we had planned on going to eat and to the zoo but it looked like it was going to rain and we got off to a late start...I decided I just wanted to go eat lunch and to the mall and then go back home to play with my girl! When we got home I got to open and use my Baby Food maker...Livia's 4 month picture CD hadn't come in yet but should be in tomorrow, and my cards were so sweet! The best present of all was to get to share this Mother's Day with the most precious little girl on Earth! Thank you Jesus for choosing me to be a Mommy to the most perfect, precious, sweet, smiley, beautiful, and the list goes on little girl! Happy Mother's Day to all!

I was determined to get a picture with Livia on our first Mother's Day together, but she would not look at the camera!
 Cody and Livia made me feel very special! We had lunch at J. Alexander's!

We still couldn't get her to look....so we gave up after this one!
Yay for my baby food maker!!! It was so easy to make her food!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
