Weekend visit from Gran and Pops!

Today Larry and Janet came down to visit! The guys had their Father-Son golf tournament with another Father-Son team...(they are pretty serious about this...Larry even had a trophy made.. more of as a joke, but still....) So us girls got to hang out and enjoy so time together! We hung out at the pool for a few hours and then drove to see Larry and Janet's lot... They've got most everything approved, but are now just waiting on the big part...the price!!!! I hope everything works out how they want it too! The house is pretty awesome and I can't wait to see it when it is finished...especially the interior design....Janet is pretty darn good at what she does!! It will definitely be something that Oakland, Tn has never seen before!!! :) When the guys finished up we went our for dinner! We didn't want to go to far so J. Alexander's it was! We can't wait to see them again next weekend for Janet's birthday!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
