Our girl is back in action!!!

Goodness...Livia has been a sick baby!!! It started when I picked her up from Jane's house on Thursday! Our girl ran fever for 5 days!!! I stayed home on Monday to take her to the doctor. They did blood work and it came back that her blood count was normal to low which meant a viral infection. They told us to keep her hydrated, give her lots of love and hugs, and tylenol. My mom came down and stayed with her Tuesday. By Wednesday she was more like herself so we sent her to Jane's house!

This weekend Cody's parents came down on Saturday for a welcome to the neighborhood/christmas party! They stayed the night with us which they were so excited about! They played with Liv until they had to leave for the party. Sunday Livia slept until 8:30!! Janet and I were up at the crack of dawn...so I finished our mantle decorations and we got caught up on our girl talk! Once everyone was awake Janet and Larry made breakfast for us! Livia talked so much this weekend and was back to her normal sweet self again...thank you Jesus!!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
