Our celebrations consisted of eating, playing, and letting the girls stay up later than normal! I usually make a bunch of snack food for New Year's Eve, but this year we ordered Mexican food! We played with all the toys and watched, believe it or not, "The Grinch" for the 100th time! Then we got in bed and played with each other for a while until the girls couldn't last one minute longer! Cody and I didn't make it to see the ball drop which has happened several times in the past! As we reflect over the past year it has been wonderful for many reasons...I gave birth to my second baby girl, both of my babies are perfect and healthy, Livia turned 2 and is talking soooo good...we love to hear everything she has to say, Cody got a job promotion, we made sweet memories with our family...etc! However it hasn't been the easiest for a few reasons...the positives out way the negatives and we are claiming and believing that 2014 is going to be a prosperous year...and a year of complete healing for everyone in my family! Thank you for this Jesus! Happy New Year!

For New Year's Day we played and then took a trip to the Collierville mall to see if we could find some good deals and take advantage of the beautiful day!We love this mall because it is an outdoor mall... so we strolled around and took in all the sun! My family has always (even before I was born) had the traditional New Year's Day meal...Hog Jow, Black Eyed Peas, Cabbage, and we throw in corn bread and fried potatoes! So that is what I do too! This year I had a special helper make the slaw! Liv loved it too! I don't do Hog Jow because Cody will not touch it so I cook bacon instead! It was super yummy and both girls ate really good! To end the day we made our New Year's resolutions for our relationship, as parents, and our personal ones! We are looking forward to being better people in 2014! Cody goes back to work tomorrow....we have loved having him home with us over this Christmas break! It has never happened before and we are thrilled that we are able to get used to it!
