Everything leading up to + Christmas 2013

We have had the best Christmas ever!!! It was Liv's 3rd Christmas and Lailee's 1st! We started the events leading up to Christmas by taking the girls to Arlington to watch Santa land from a helicopter....it was too windy so he came in on a fire truck instead...Cody and I were slightly disappointed...but Livia and Lailee were so excited! I think their favoirte part was seeing Mickey and Minnie!



 Then that night we went to Cody's work Christmas party! We had a lot of fun! He was awarded Manager of the year for the 2nd year...boy were we proud of our daddy! Monday the girls and I finished up our last minute shopping! That night we went to dinner with Larry, Janet, Jesse, and Bonnie! This year we had Christmas Eve breakfast with Cody's family! It was great! 


































Later that night we took the girls to see Santa, have dinner, and look at Christmas lights! When we got home we went out and sprinkled food for the reindeer...it was so precious to watch! 











Then we put the girls to bed so that Santa could come! Cody and I wanted to be there when Liv and Lailee saw their presents so the plan was to run and get Liv as soon as we heard her open her door...and that is just what we did! They woke up early Christmas morning and were so surprised to see all the awesome toys that Santa had left them! Cody and I couldn't wait to see their sweet little faces when they walked in the living room! It was pure joy for us and them! We played for a while, sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, and then it was time to get ready so that we could head to Newbern! 








































When we pulled up Livia was screaming E E and Papa!!! They had Livia and Lailee all sorts of wonderful toys!! That afternoon we went to my Nana's house! We had so much fun and the girls loved their slide! That night we went to my Pawpaw's house! We love going to Pawpaw's because normally it is the last stop and we love the ham sandwiches too! The girls were so excited to get their Minnie Mouse inflatable ball pit! Cody and I left the girls with E E and Papa for a few days since he is off for the next week! We had a wonderful time together! We used our gift cards and hit up some after Christmas sales, ate good, and slept in (7:00)! We headed back to celebrate Christmas with my grandma and grandaddy and to celebrate my mom's birthday! We love my grandma and grandaddy's Christmas too because she has all the hallmark ornaments on the tree, she makes all the best Christmas dinner, and the best candy and pies!  This Christmas was so special...when we are faced with trials in our life it brings a whole new meaning to family, blessings, faith,  and not taking one moment for granted...and that is just what we did! Merry Christmas everyone!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given. This morning we woke up and Elsie had gotten Liv's baby doll crib out of the toy room and was hanging out in the crib in Liv's room. He must have had a long night at the North Pole...Christmas is only 6 days away!!!!
