Week 3 & Beach Trip with the Willoughby's

Day 1

Larry and Janet have a friend who used to have several condos and we have stayed in them before and they are awesome...well he sold all of them except one and the one he has was a cabin...we didn't find this out until Friday!!!! So we thought we would give it a shot...when we arrived it was everything we thought it would be...it was a cabin with a boat that you had to get in and take to the ocean...not accomodating for a baby..so the search was on!!! We had breakfast at The Broken Egg in Sea Grove and waited for all the real estate places to open...we searched all morning at the sea side, grayton beach, sea grove area and not one condo was available that suited us...so then we were off to Destin...our plan was just to go to every resort and ask about vacancies and that's just what we did..we went to 4 before we found our place we would call home for a week and boy was it worth the patient waiting, driving, and searching we had done all day!!! We are staying at the Silver Beach Towers...our room is directly to the right as soon as you get off the elevator...perfect distance for wagging all the essentials..as soon as you open the door you have a full view of the ocean....it is beautiful! Then the best part is that our rooms are on opposites sides of the condo and they both have full views of the ocean!!! It was a pretty stressful day, but being patient paid off!! I am so proud of my girl...all in all she rode in her car seat 17 hours Friday and Saturday and she did awesome! She slept the whole way to Florida and didn't miss her nap times!! The guys went to play golf while Janet went to the grocery and Liv and I took a nap...The guys got stuck in a bad storm and was only able to play 3 holes and Janet got stuck too with loading and unloading all the groceries :( Janet made dinner for us and then it was time for bath and bed! Liv and I took a bath in the jucuzzi tub..Cody got her out for me and by then time I could get it he had put lotion on her and a diaper and she was sound asleep!!! We made the best of our day and I was so glad to finally get to the Seaside and all the other little communities! We are hoping for better weather tomorrow!

Day 2

Today we woke up and it was gorgeous outside...we quickly put our beach cart together and stuffed everything in it...we headed down to the beach around 8:30...we decided not to put the beach tent up because it was supposed to rain and the guys wouldn't be there to help us take it down and all that good stuff! So we just laid our beach blanket and mat down and we played...Livia crawled to the sand every time....she definitely doesn't get a love for the sand from me...I took her down to the ocean and she was a bit more clingy at first this time, but the water was cold and it was very rough today...a red flag all day long!! So we just stayed were our feet could get wet and she was fine with that!! After playing in the ocean it was time for Liv to eat and take a nap...we decided to try and let her take her naps on the beach but her nap only lasted 30 minutes long because a helacopter flew over really low and woke her up. It started looking dark so we headed to the pool. She loves the pool!!!! We played in the water for a while and then Gran went up and made us lunch...while she was in the room it started raining so I tried quickly getting all of the stuff we had brought to the pool inside!!!! So instead of eating at the pool we ate on the balcony of our condo! Liv took a nap after we had lunch and we stayed in because of the storm!!! While she napped we got ready for dinner! We ate at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach and it was delicious!!!! At dinner we let Livia suck on a lemon slice..it was hilarious!!!! She kept on sucking which means she must have liked it!!We came home and intended on playing a card game, but everyone crashed!

Day 3

As soon as Liv woke up I put her in the bed with us!! She leaned over and put her hand on Cody's face...it was like she was saying oh I've missed you, Daddy!! One of the many things she does that we love!!!So we started our day with an early morning walk...after our walk we came back and fed Liv and laid her down for her morning nap...Cody was so proud that he put her down for her nap....around 9:30 we all went down to the beach...let me just say thank the Lord for a beach cart!!!! We laid everything out and set up the beach tent...we stayed for a while and then Cody, Livia, and I headed up to the pool! It was FREEZING...all of the rain has made the ocean and the pool like ice!!! So we just hung out on the side for a while until we all got used to it! We then found two chairs..one was in the shade and the other in the sun! Cody took the shady one with Liv and let me catch some rays!! After playing for a while it was time for Liv's afternoon nap...she fell asleep at the pool and we walked down to the beach and laid her down in the beach tent! They guys headed up around 12 to play golf and we headed up around 12:30 for lunch. Livia had mango for the first time and she didn't really like it..after lunch we went back to the pool and stayed until around 4! We all took showers and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing! I wanted to show Gran how the "My Baby Can Read" program was working for Livia! I didn't bring the DVD, book, and flash cards because we are on vacation...so I made her four flashcards on paper towels (it's all I had). I chose gorilla, arms up, nose, and mouth. I laid tow words down beside each other and told her to pick a certain one and she did it....Janet was like huh....I did another one and Livia identified it correct again...she was speechless!!!! I told her the first time I had done this last week I was thinking, it was just coincidence that she identified 7 out of 9 words correct!!! But Livia actually can identify these words!!! It is AMAZING!!!!! We did it several time with Janet and Livia did great each time....Janet was so proud!!! She and I both couldn't wait to show they guys! Instead of going out for dinner we had the guys us up something from Bubba Gump's. After dinner we showed the guys how Livia can identify her words! They we taken away!!! They were so proud!! We put Livia down and then we played spades....Cody is sooooooo competitive so it stresses me out to even play with him!!! Haha!! Well we didn't win and he was mad...and we all were secretly laughing in the kitchen!!!! We have to have a rematch tomorrow! We had an awesome day! Livia loves our beach vacation just as much as we do!!

Day 4

We slept in this morning and woke up to clouds....so we all just hung out on the balcony! Janet and I went to the outlet mall while the boys watched Livia! While we were shopping, the sun popped out and we decided we could shop later! When we got back to the condo Livia was still napping...we packed our cart and put on our suits and by that time our girl had woke up! We all headed to the beach! Cody and I both aren't fans of sand, we love the ocean..but just hate the sand!! And with a crawling baby she gets sand on her hands and I am scared she is going to rub her eyes and that would not be good!! So Cody, Livia, and I went up to the pool! We had a great time!! Cody and Larry went out to hit balls so Janet came up to the pool with Livia and me! We stayed out until about 4 and then we came in to get ready for dinner! We ate at The Back Porch! The sat us right by the beach so the view was beautiful! Livia wanted to get out of her seat so Gran took her and our first spill of many happened! Thank goodness it was only water! We intended on going to play putt putt golf, but it was time for our girl to go to bed! We had another fun day and look forward to tomorrow!

Day 5

Today we had a fun day planned! Livia and I went Diana's condo and had fun in the sun with them. Cody and Larry went and played golf with Diana's husband, Lee and his dad. And Janet stayed at our condo and had a day all to herself on the beach! Livia and Lucas always love seeing each other! We played in the condo and then by the pool! It was so much fun getting to spend time with them away from home! We picked the guys up from golf and got ready for dinner. We ate at AJ's and then took the guys and Livia back to the condo and Janet and I went to get yogurt! As we were walking into get the yogurt I heard someone say my name...it was Diana and her family...so we chatted for a few minutes! We had another fun day!

Day 6

Today we woke up and Janet offered to take Livia for a while so that Cody and I could go back to sleep...Livia has not been sleeping all through the night and we think there are quiet a few factors leading to this....being away from home, traveling a lot, teething, needing to up her food intake (which we have done again), being in a pack n play instead of her bed...so considering everything that is going on she is doing ok...but it was nice to sleep and extra hour! When we woke up we headed to the pool....we have decided that it is too hard to go to the beach with a baby...so Cody and I stayed at the pool and Larry and Janet went to the beach! We all ended up at the pool when it was all said and done! Cody, Livia, and I stayed out until around 1 and then we came up for Liv's lunch and nap...we took a nap too!! Larry and Janet suggested Cody and I go out by ourselves for dinner and they would keep Livia...we love spending time together but we always miss Liv so bad!!! So we got dressed up and went out for a nice date! We ate at the Marina Cafe and the food, service, view, and decor were top notch!! It is definitely our new favorite! We came back home and gave Liv her bath and put her down for the night!

Day 7

Today we woke up and started Cody's Father's Day celebrations! We gave him some of his gifts...we gave him a round of golf at Kelly Plantation in Destin, a golf towel, a pack of his favorite tees, a recoedable "Dad and Me" book, and a card that I made just for him from Livia! He loved everything!!! When they guys went to play their Father's Day golf, we went down to the ocean first and then to the pool! We stayed out most of the day! When the guys came back they stayed with Livia while she napped and I went back down to the pool for a bit! We all got ready and ate at PF Changs and then headed back to the condo to take beach pictures! Livia has this new smile and she showed it off in most of the pictures!! It is soo cute! We packed a little tonight but figured we would just pack most of our stuff in the morning! We have had a great trip!
