Cody's 1st Father's Day!

We started Cody's Father's Day celebrations in Florida, and we gave him the rest today!! Last night he asked if Livia could sleep with us since it was Father's Day, so I gave in and let her! She was EXCITED to say the least! She was kicking and breathing really hard!!! It was so sweet! Cody woke up today and said that it brought him so much joy to let our baby sleep with us and that her being so excited gave him a feeling he has never had!!! I loved it soooo much too!!! Since today was all about him we let him decide how he wanted to spend his day! Since we have been on the go so much lately he just wanted to stay at home and be with his girls all day! He requested a home cooked breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuits, and hashbrowns and that is exactly what he got! Then, while Livia napped we watched a movie together. Next, we went to the pool for a while. Then, we went home and watched the golf tournament. For supper we went to El Nopal! Every Sunday night there is a quartet that sings, so we were serenaded by them! Livia loved it!!! She was dancing and couldn't take her eyes off one of the men! They would point to her and sing right to her! Cody and I got so tickled, along with all the people around us in the restaurant! Cody said he had the perfect day. 














We have moved our coffee table into the office! We are being proactive...it is a very bad table to have for a crawling baby!
We love all the space...more room to play!!

She LOVES the water...we put her on her belly and she just kicks and swims all around the pool! Janet said that when she took Cody and Jesse for swim lesson they had 6 months old babies swimming! I guess it is never to early!

Happy 1st Father's Day, Daddy! We love you so much and think you are the most amazing Daddy and husband ever!! We are truly blessed to have you!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
