Snow/Ice mini vacation

Or at least that what it has turned in to! We have been out for 3 days! And then next week is spring break!!!! Good things come to those who wait..right!! We have dodged several chances for snow days, but this time we scored!!! I am so grateful for this time with my girls, but I will say I could totally get used to staying home with them everyday! Maybe one day! Liv has had the fever virus again and Lai was pulling at her ear so I took them in to see the doctor on Tuesday and they both had ear infections...but we didn't let fever and ears get us down! Cody stayed home all morning on Monday, we played in the snow/ice (only 10 minutes because is was frigid and their ears), Liv washed dishes several times a day, Lailee played in the toy room and reorganized everything, we watched Frozen, we cooked together, we took naps together, we made pallets, we laughed a whole lot, I took every chance to hold both of my babies, we cleaned house, we finger painted, we made Lailee's hand imprint, we did puzzles, we read Dr. Seuss books all week, we colored our bath water, and the girls are now on the mend! Wow...what a fun 3 days we have had together!! My motivation for going back to work is that it is only for 2 days and then it's Spring Break!!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
