Lailee's birth story!

On Monday at 8:50am I had my weekly doctor's appointment. When Dr. Taylor checked me he said he had interesting news for me....I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced! I had a good feeling I would have this baby within the next few days if not that night! I picked Livia up from Diana's and we celebrated by stopping at Wendy's...btw a Wendy's burger is about the only thing I have had a strong craving for this pregnancy and I haven't eaten one the whole time! We headed home and while Liv napped, I put the bassinet up and finished packing. I was hurting from my check up, so I laid down for the last hour of Liv's nap. I lost my mucus plug around 2:30pm, and I immediately called my mom and dad. They left Dyersburg and got here around 4:30pm. I started having contractions 5 mins apart, but they were only lasting 20 seconds. Mom insisted Cody and I go have dinner, so we headed into town to Jim n Nick's. On the way my contractions were 5-7 mins apart lasting 30-45 seconds! During dinner we decided that we needed to go to the hospital...we called Larry and Janet, and we headed back to Oakland to get Livia. We dropped her off by Diana's and got to the hospital at 8:30...when they checked me I was at 5 cm...I had been working and didn't even realize it! Dr. Taylor was not on call, but Dr. Estepp was. I had never met her, but had complete trust in God's plan for her to deliver Lailee. Needless to say she was such a blessing! Once the decision was made for me to stay...they gave me my epidural at 6 cm, broke my water, and started pitocin. I dilated from 6 to 8 cm in 45 minutes. Dr. Estepp decided to stay since I had Liv so quick. About 30 minutes later when the nurse came in to check on me I told her I felt a lot of pressure...she checked me and said I was at 10 cm and it was show time! She went and got the doctor. She worked with me for about 5 minutes and said stop pushing...I immediately asked why and she said, "Because you are about to have this baby and I have to get dressed!" She was so awesome through the whole delivery process! I only had to push 4 times which was a blessing! My sister stayed in the room along with my mom and Cody, and she had the honor of videoing the birth of Lailee! The people that were waiting on her arrival were Papa, Gran, G-daddy, and tons of people from home! Lailee is absolutely perfect! She was born at 2:00 am. She weighed 7.1 lbs and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair and blue eyes. Her skin is a beautiful reddish dark color. She has a birth mark or a bruise on the top front of her left leg! Livia came to meet her new baby sister Wednesday morning and she was so excited! She would point and talk to her, but she wouldn't touch her! She did give her kisses which melted my heart! We stayed in the hospital for a little over 24 hours...we were released at 11:00 on Wednesday! When we pulled into the driveway my mom was tying the pink bow on the mailbox! Thanks Mom! Our lives were perfect before, but now they are 10 times more perfect with Lailee!! We love you so much Lailee Tayte....you are the sweetest, most precious baby! We are head over hills in love with you! You are so perfect and have made our family 100% complete!
