Livia’s 1st Christmas

We decided that since Livia was so young this Christmas, we would drive to Newbern to do Christmas like always except Santa came to see Livia this year! Wow…she must have been such a good girl this past month! Santa was good to Livia! He brought her tons of clothes and toys! We exchanged presents with mom, dad, and Lindsey after we saw what Santa brought everyone. Then we went to my Nana’s house to visit and do Christmas with her. Next, we went to Papa’s. Finally our last stop was Grandmomma’s and Grandaddy’s house! We had a great time giving and receiving gifts, however we didn’t forget the real reason for Christmas! We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, we read Livia the story of Jesus’ birth from her new bible, and we made him as much part of our day as everything else!

My favorite thing he said was I.....Love.....Yoooouuuu!!! So precious!

    I love these pictures!!! Livia is beautiful, just like her mommy!!!! Looking at these made me miss all of you so very much. We have got to make time real soon to come see all of you. Love you all!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
