Christmas traditions

We are starting brand new Christmas traditions with our brand new baby girl!

1st tradition- Santa’s cookie plate- We made a plate for santa’s cookies. Each year we will make a new one.


2nd tradition- Reindeer food- We couldn’t leave the reindeer out, after all they are what help Santa get to our house. We are leaving candy corn for the reindeer.

3rd tradition- Making Candy- We are making candy on the day before Christmas Eve. We are making fudge, oreo balls, and chocolate covered pretzels.

4th tradition- Making Santa’s cookies- We are making Santa’s cookies on Christmas Eve day.




5th tradition- PJ’s- We will be giving Livia new PJ’s on Christmas Eve so that if Santa peeps in on her, he will see how cute she looks!

6th tradition- Videotaping- We will be videotaping Livia’s excitement of what Santa brought her on Christmas morning!

Join us as we “Rock our Socks” for Lera!  March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), the day the Down syndrome community creates a single, global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.  Every year, on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate by wearing brightly colored or mismatched socks.  March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given. We cried, we were mad, we prayed and processed and prayed some more. We shared the results with our closest family and friends and just like us, they prayed over our baby daily. After t...
