Walt + Liz...Nashville Wedding

School is out so let the festivities begin!! First on our list was Walt and Liz's wedding! Walt is a long time friend of Cody's and is such a great person!! He was in our wedding and we haven't seem him since so it was great to catch up!! Liz is the sweetest girl ever and we are so happy for them both!! We drive down Friday so that we could attend the rehearsal and dinner! It was fun to meet all of Cody's friends from high school and college! Saturday we woke up early and went to eat at Shoney's! The girls got to the hotel around 12 and they were so excited!! They played and played and thought that the hotel room was the coolest thing!! Cody had to go for pictures around 2 so the girls and I took a nap and then started getting ready! The venue for the wedding was at the historic rock castle right on the old hickory lake!!! Gorgeous!! It was a sweet, simple, and a quick wedding!! The reception was right on the lake and was just perfect!! The girls dance there little hearts out and did not want to leave!! Livia was obsessed with Liz..she kept saying "I want to see the princess!" or "Where's Barbie?" It was really sweet! Liz danced with Liv which totally made her night! We headed out Sunday to go back home! It was a perfect weekend!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given. We cried, we were mad, we prayed and processed and prayed some more. We shared the results with our closest family and friends and just like us, they prayed over our baby daily. After t...
