Thanksgiving!!!!

Thanksgiving is a holiday that I look forward to all year! I am a big eater so of course I love the food...but most of all I love visiting with my family and remembering how much I have been blessed with to be thankful for! Mom and I  starting preparing for our feast Wednesday....which made Thursday perfect! We were still busy, but we had time to play with Liv! While we cooked, Daddy worked on the yard...Liv got in on the action too! She helped park the lawn mower! Everyone was at the house at 12:30 ready to visit and dig in! Livia LOVED all the good food and of course loved visiting with everyone! Cody had to leave soon after we ate because he had to be into work at 2:00 am to prepare and send out 1,300 box lunches for black Friday!!! Liv and I stayed and intended on staying until Saturday morning...but my sister and dad got really sick so we decided it would be best if we went back home Friday afternoon. Before we left we went to breakfast with Momma and then went to the park! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone...we have so many blessings to be thankful for!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
