Our ultrasound visit with Lailee!


Today Liv and I went for my ultrasound and checkup to make sure Liv is having a sister...and she is!!!! The ultrasound tech was sweet about helping me with Livia! She laid down a blanket and Livia played with her toys..she didn't stay there for long, but she did great during the ultrasound! The sweetest thing happened that made my heart smile! When the lady checked Lailee's heartbeat Livia started bouncing up and down which is her way of dancing! She was dancing to her sister's heartbeat!!!  So precious! We will have to get another ultrasound in 4 weeks because Lailee was not cooperating...the tech couldn't get her to roll over so she didn't get a good look at her face! However Lailee was very active and waved quite a few times! Her little fingers looked so long! She weighs 1 lb!  Once we went back to see Dr. Taylor she got a little more busy to say the least!! She wanted to go in every room and talk a lot! Haha! Everything was good with me except my weight! I had gained 10 lbs in 6 weeks! I tried giving him the excuse of my boots, but he just said bologna! Oh well...as long as Lailee is healthy we are good!!!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
