She's on the move!!!

Livia took her first steps today!!!! As I was walking up to get her at Mama Jane's she turned and took 2 steps! I was a little beside myself and screamed "Jane.....she just took 2 steps!!!" She said that she had taken 2 that morning too!!! What a BIG milestone! I can't believe how fast she is growing up! When Cody got home we tried showing him, but she was thinking too hard about it and just wanted to reach for our help! It was really sweet though because once she would make it to either of us she would smile soooo big....she was proud of herself and we were too!

She is pulling her car into the garage like Mommy's!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
