Goodbye's with Emmi and Papa are getting harder!

This weekend we headed up to Newbern to visit! When everyone found out about Liv and I coming into town they wanted to see us...so my mom had everyone over! We grilled out, laughed, and played with Livia the whole time! She was of course the center of attention and everyone couldn't get over how big and smart she has gotten! She is the first for almost everyone in my family so you can imagine how crazy they are about her!!! We all got a kick out of her and my dad playing chase!! She would chase him and he would chase her and she was laughing harder than I have ever heard her!!!! My pawpaw also taught her how to put her hand in the bag and pull out her yogurt bites..he was pretty proud about this!!
Aunt Kim was thrilled to see Livia!
Pawpaw was teaching Livia how to put her hand in the bag...and he was successful!
Momma had to go to a shower so Livia was helping her make her dish!



Liv's pj's were in the washer...so we put her on my shirt!
She loves looking out this door!
Liv wanted to help her Papa make pancakes!
Looks like we might just have to put locks on the cabinets!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
