Weekend fun full of toys!!

Momma and Dad came down on Friday to visit!!! What a great way to end the first week of school! They love to keep Livia busy so they took walks around the house and played chase then we all sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze! Momma was so kind to cook us a meal with everything I had asked for!!! Yum yum!!! There is NOTHING like my momma's cooking! Momma and I went on to bed while they boys sat up talking! Saturday morning Daddy cooked a great breakfast and then he put Livia's swing up for her! Then he drilled holes in all of our yard work tools and hung them in our little storage in the garage! My dad can literally do anything and everything and make it look so easy!! I bought Livia a stand and sit walker toy and she impressed us by learning how to control her speed on the 2nd try! She is into dancing right now so she loves that it plays music! She will stop and bounce up and down and sway back and forth! It is the cutest thing ever! We had lunch and then my parents headed back home... :( I wish I lived right beside them or vice versa!!! Maybe one day! Cody's parents headed down on Sunday! They brought Liv a toy which she loved! The boys played golf and Janet was so sweet to cook a great breakfast and dinner for us!

Lera's Gift

                      Meet our precious baby girl, LERA MICHELLE! Cody and I are choosing to share Lera’s story to hopefully encourage others that may have a similar journey and help change the way the world views Down Syndrome! At 11 weeks our OB at the time noticed a thickened nuchal fold and suggested we do a genetic blood test. Honestly, we didn’t believe anything would be detected with our baby, we were just looking forward to finding out the gender so early. The results came back, and the screening detected a 76% predictive value for Trisomy 21. Definitely not something we ever expected. And the way it was presented to Cody and me made us leave the appointment scared, confused, and in denial of the results we had just been given.
